Google, the online powerhouse and purveyor of the worlds information, is the outright leader in interactive and useful mapping technology, which is exactly the reason MLS EARTHview™ chose to develop our application utilizing their mapping interfaces. We provide direct property links to Google Maps, Google Earth and Google Street View. The property icons are actually “pop-up” property bubbles with image and pertinent information. GOOGLE MAPS The main, basic interface of Google Maps is incredibly intuitive and straightforward. You can select the map, move it around and zoom in and out to find the area that you want to see. There are three different views which you can switch between at any time: MAPS: This is the street-level map—correct in location, length and shape—it includes the country, state and county boundaries, names of roads, lakes, rivers, oceans, parks, and other identifiable information. SATELLITE: Consists of satellite photographs of the surface of the earth. The images are taken at different resolutions and are being constantly updated, and are usually no more than three years old. Satellite imagery is much more useful when identifying landmarks because you cannot see street names or points of interests. HYBRID: This type of map is the combination of the two previous types by actually overlaying the road information on to the satellite image. All you’d ever want to know about Google Maps GOOGLE EARTH Google Earth is free for personal use and incorporates satellite images that cover the earth’s surface. It also provides access to all of the different Google Local databases, including those that provide information on locations and about local businesses. Google Earth is a desktop interface to the Google Earth Servers, and because it is not limited by a web browser there is a lot more functionality, flexibility and interactivity available. The true power of Google Earth is the interactive layers… the numerous overlays that include specific area information, amenities and businesses, such as, roads, boundaries, schools, churches, banks, stores, restaurants, parks, sporting venues, golf courses, etc. Here’s the complete Google Earth Overview GOOGLE STREET VIEW Google Street View is exactly what it says that it is. A 360° street-level perspective, that allows you to pan and zoom and move up and down the street. It actually show you anything and everything that anyone would be able to see while driving down that specific street. It truly is unbelievably amazing!
